Vandalism, Sabotage, Terrorism: Pet Ploys of the Left

Tools of leftists, whether they are on a small scale or large: vandalism, sabotage, terrorism. They may be adherents of the philosophy, "The ends justify the means", but their end is self-defeating. Like one who protesteth too much, their credibility is undermined by their actions.

Think it's funny that Carl Rove's car was plastic-wrapped and plastered with Obama stickers? It's just business-as-usual for lefties, and is symptomatic of a larger problem. They see nothing wrong with destroying property and perpetrating theft to achieve their goals. Freedom of speech and expression are rights conferred upon them alone, whilst anyone who doesn't march in lock-step with them deserves what they get. More and more, it is seen as acceptable to slash and burn the property of others, from the smallest political campaign upward. Lefties defend graffiti, a serious form of vandalism, as "self-expression". Yet, they rail against pollution and visual blight. I have seen left-wing zealots stealing small, temporary campaign signs from gardens on private property, and then plastering their stickers and signs on public property, creating a blight on the landscape that remains for years. I have witnessed, on election day, car-windows smashed-in for bearing tasteful decals supporting the troops. On election day, Democrats have been known to slash the tires on Republican vehicles which were used to transport handicapped voters to the polls. In ultra-left Seattle, the spray-paint "tagging" of houses which dare to fly the American flag is popular. In France, burning cars because one's life isn't ideal is excused and therefore condoned. In Oregon, USA, Scores of SUVs were torched by Earth Liberation Front (appropriate initials for people with elf-sized brains), creating more pollution than President Bush could if he lived to be 3,000 years old. Lefties and communists pretend that their vandalism is good-natured pranksterism, but that's a patent lie. Just ask anyone who has had to pay big bucks to repair their damage. Remember that the White House was seriously sabotaged and defiled by President Clinton's staffers before vacating it--an act consistent with that administration's scorched-earth policy. People who don't believe that Wal-Mart ought to exist, even though the company has raised the standard of living for countless Americans and employed many, feel free to threaten them with bombs. That is the world which the female presidential candidate wants to preside over, a climate in which she will thrive.

One of the great mysteries of the New Age: why do people who only shop at "Health Food" stores usually look deathly ill?

Enforcer of Moroccan Monarchy Dies in Paris

Driss Basri, Former Interior Minister of Morocco is Dead

Paris, 27th August, 2007 Morocco's former interior minister, Driss Basri, died Monday in a Paris hospital. He was sixty-nine years old, and had been ill.

Mr Basri was minister of the interior for 20 years and right-hand man of King Hassan II until the death of the monarch, whose son, Mohammed VI, succeeded him (November of 1999).

Driss Basri held his post, not without controversy but without interruption, throughout a succession of governments. He presided over Moroccan intelligence and police forces and was perceived as being closer to King Hassan than were the prime ministers.

He was known for merciless crackdowns on anti-government protests and was in-charge of the Western Sahara problem, a dispute in which the territory was annexed in 1975 after the withdrawal of Spanish settlers.

The Bush Administration Let the Clinton Appointees Stay--Big Mistake

After years of letting them stay on the job for which President Clinton appointed them, President Bush's Attorney General Alberto Gonzales finally fired them, as any Democrat would do with idealogically-opposed U.S. Attornies. After months of insane, wasteful "investigations" by congress and senate of the perfectly proper firings, the Honorable Alberto Gonzales has stepped down as Attorney General of the United States. He is culpable in that he denied knowledge and complicity in the firings, which was self-defeating and unnecessary. The only thing irregular about those firings themselves was the timing--they were done much too late. Once again, the Democrats are depending on the ignorance of their constituency, who will believe anything their leaders tell them. Their followers also depend, for their enlightenment, upon internet sites crawling with the juvenile rantings of rabid illiterates. The politics of personal destruction, especially for imagined reasons--false notions that acquire mythological dimensions--are today's Democrat party's modus operandi.

President Clinton fired HIS PREDECESSOR'S appointees immediately upon taking office. They were the lucky ones.

In fact, here is a list of people connected to and who worked for the last Democrat president, and did not live to regret it:

James McDougal - Clinton's convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr's investigation.

Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.

Vince Foster - Former White House counselor, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law Firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled suicide. He also had another 22 gunshot wound in the neck. The gunshot wound to the head was of larger caliber and found still in his hand!!

Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death, Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors.

C. Victor Raiser II & Montgomery Raiser - Major players in the Clinton fund-raising organization. Died in a private plane crash in July 1992.

Paul Tulley - Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock, September 1992. Described by Clinton's a "Dear friend and trusted advisor".

Ed Willey - Clinton fund-raiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in Virginia of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.

Jerry Parks - Head of Clinton's gubernatorial security team in Little Rock. Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Park's son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house.

James Bunch - Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a "Black Book" of people containing names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas.

James Wilson - Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He was reported to have ties to Whitewater.

Kathy Ferguson - Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson. Died in May 1994. She was found dead in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide although there were several packed suitcases, as if she was going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co- defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.

Bill Shelton - Arkansas State Trooper and fiancee of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancee, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound also ruled a suicide at the gravesite of his fiancee.

Gandy Baugh - Attorney for Clinton friend Dan Lassater. Died by jumping out a window of a tall building January, 1994. His client was a convicted drug distributor. One of Clinton's last duties as Governor of Arkansas was to pardon Dan Lassater convicted on over a hundred drug charges.

Florence Martin - Accountant sub-contractor for the CIA related to the Barry Seal Mena Airport drug smuggling case. Died of three gunshot wounds.

Suzanne Coleman - Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. Was pregnant at the time of her death.

Paula Grober - Clinton's speech interpreter for the deaf from 1978 until her death December 9, 1992. She died in a one-car accident.

Danny Casolaro - Investigative reporter. Investigating Mena Airport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. He slit his wrists, apparent suicide in the middle of his investigation.

Paul Wilcher - Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with Casolaro and the 1980 "October Surprise" was found dead on a toilet June 22, 1993 in his Washington D.C. apartment. Had delivered a report to Janet Reno 3 weeks before his death.

Jon Parnell Walker - Whitewater investigator for Resolution Trust Corp. Jumped to his death from his Arlington, Virginia apartment balcony August 15, 1993. Was investigating Morgan Guarantee scandal.

Barbara Wise - Commerce Department staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29, 1996. Her bruised nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce.

Charles Meissner - Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash.

Dr. Stanley Heard - Chairman of the National Chiropractic Health Care Advisory Committee. Died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash. Dr. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton's advisory council, personally treated Clinton's mother, stepfather and brother.

Barry Seal - Drug-running pilot out of Mena Arkansas, death was no accident.

Johnny Lawhorn Jr. - Mechanic, found a check made out to Clinton in the trunk of a car left in his repair shop. Died when his car hit a utility pole.

Stanley Huggins - Suicide. Investigated Madison Guarantee. His report was never released.
Hershell Friday - Attorney and Clinton fundraiser. Died March 1, 1994 when his plane exploded.
Kevin Ives & Don Henry - Known as "The boys on the track" case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas airport drug operation. Controversial case where initial report of death was due to falling asleep on railroad track. Later reports claim the 2 boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.

Keith Coney - Died when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a truck July, 1988.
Keith McMaskle - Died of 113 stabbed wounds, November 1988.
Gregory Collins - Died from a gunshot wound January 1989.
Jeff Rhodes - He was shot, mutilated and found burned in a trash dump in April 1989.
James Milan - Found decapitated. Coroner ruled death due to natural causes.
Jordan Kettleson - Was found shot to death in the front seat of his pickup truck in June 1990.
Richard Winters - Was a suspect in the Ives / Henry deaths. Was killed in a set-up robbery July 1989.

I've Never Stopped Wearing Knee-Socks--in Certain Venues

In Bermuda, where I stocked up on them several times, they were only available in the Men's version. As you can see, the sock foot, though size small, is still too large. I've lived with it for many years, though.

Bolshies: Wonderful People...

The remains of murdered Tsar Nicholas and Tsarina Alexandra and three of their children were located in 1991 ...and now, perhaps the remains of the other two family members have been found.

The insatiable blood-lust of the Bolsheviks (communists) ought never to be discounted nor forgotten.

Book on Président Sarkozy Released Today

French playwright Yasmina Reza spent time on the campaign trail with Président Sarkozy. In her book, "L'aube le soir ou la nuit" (Dawn, Evening or Night), released today, the author describes Nicolas Sarkozy as an intense man "who never stops stirring up life."

"I challenge anyone who has come up close to him not to be impressed."--Yasmina Reza.

Ms. Reza says that while Président Sarkozy is an impatient over-achiever, she had not seen him have any angry outburst.

This all bodes well for France; an exceedingly dynamic leader with a great deal of passion for all that he does is the beginning of a propitious new era.

Postscript: Apparently, the story of some retouching on photos of the president has burgeoned. People, get your priorities straight: for one thing, there is no magazine with a feature story in which the principles have NOT been retouched in some way. Take it from me--I was in that industry in New York City for many years. And, it is much ado about nothing--I despair of the present human condition! What is truly shameful is the public's concentration on such a detail. Sure, someone made a molehill out of what may have been a more like a mountain, but making a mountain out of a molehill is idiotic.

Good News for Americans; Bad News for the Health-Insurance Racket

From "Goiters" News Agency:

Controversy? The behemoth health-insurance industry would like to believe that they can stop this trend...a microsystem that ought to spell their end!

And, of course, there's a certain Democrat presidential candidate who seems to wish she could play God. If she becomes president, this little exercise in personal freedom will come to smash. She'd like to determine who lives and who dies, according to her own "health-care" plan, wherein one has no choice but to attend the doctors of HER choice--all while having to buy into a monstrous "health-insurance" policy.

I explained my beef with the health-insurance racket here back in June.

Brooke Astor: a Great, Elegant Lady

Brooke Astor: a Great, Elegant Lady

During the 1980s, my husband did some charity work in Manhattan. He accompanied the late philanthropist Brooke Astor on her visits to the poor charity offices in drug-infested, poor sections of the city. When asked by someone why she went there dripping with jewels and swathed in fur (it wasn't my husband who asked--he always appeared with jacket and tie, hat and walking stick, and still does), Mrs. Astor replied that the people would be disappointed if she didn't. She was a lady who understood people, having grown up around the world as the daughter of a military official; and while devoting her life to helping others, Brooke Astor was true to herself.

A Convenient Lie

Valerie Plame and her husband, Joe Wilson, frequently boasted about her working for the CIA. He used to call her his "CIA Wife". The only thing criminal in the investigation of who "outed" her is the fact that taxpayer dollars were spent doing it, and a prosecutor used it to further his political aspirations. Who "exposed" Valerie Plame, other than herself and her husband? Richard Armitage.

The only time Valerie Plame was covert: when she and Joe Wilson raised the top on their Jaguar convertible.

Elegant Survival's Source for Inexpensive Evening Gowns

Dress Like a Siren for a Song!

The Los Angeles company is called Buy in America. I'll start with this cocktail dress. Please see their sizing chart. I disagree with their numbers, but after all, what matters is how the dress looks.

Almost all of the company's dresses and gowns can be accompanied by their matching taffeta shawls--which are available at $6.00 each! Some really cute, old-fashioned evening bags and reticules are also on offer at Buy in America.

This next one is actually available in a 44-inch bust: Shimmering Cocktail Dress
Note: sometimes there are additional sizes listed a bit lower on the page.
At these prices, I can't accuse them of driving down the "plus size" to drive up the price of the dress.

Long Evening Gowns with Matching Shawls

Good news: Buy in America takes PayPal.

Queen Rania al Abdullah Launches Diplomatic YouTube Site

Queen Rania al Abdullah of Jordan

"Send me your stereotypes". ~~Her Majesty Queen Rania al Abdullah of Jordan seeks to advance cross-cultural understanding and to send outdated ethnic stereotypes to the ash-heap of history. The Royal Hashemite Kingdom continues its customary tasteful goodwill and diplomacy. It's a brave thing Her Royal Majesty is doing, given the current climate of coarseness on the internet, where all manner of unqualified and bigoted opinions are aired. Queen Rania of Jordan is opening the proverbial Pandora's box in order to encourage cross-cultural understanding. Brava!

President Sarkozy

PARIS, Aug 9, 2007

French President Nicolas Sarkozy will make a brief trip home from his United States vacation to attend the Friday funeral of Cardinal Jean-Marie Lustiger, the retired archbishop of Paris, in Notre Dame Cathedral, his office said. Cardinal Lustiger, a pivotal and highly respected figure in French religious life who served as Paris archbishop for 25 years until 2005, died on Sunday at age 80. He was a towering intellectual, and close associate of the late Pope John Paul II. There had once been speculative talk of Archbishop Cardinal Jean-Marie Lustiger becoming Pope. After the funeral in Paris, President Sarkozy will travel to the United States, where he is to meet Saturday with George W. Bush at the U.S. president's summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine. The two leaders will have a private luncheon together with French First Lady Cecilia Sarkozy and her U.S. counterpart, Laura Bush. Nicolas Sarkozy and his family have been vacationing since last week in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, a mere 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Kennebunkport.

Man with Monkey

A man smuggled a monkey onto an airplane yesterday. People think that's cute, but monkeys (not ALL monkeys, of course) are well-known carriers of two bleeding-out diseases--Marburg and Ebola, and one scourge of humanity, HIV.

And, what does this lapse say about "airport security"--the window-dressing farce that pretends to protect us, while exercising meaningless P.C. shake-downs of the least-likely suspects? My extremely dignified husband is always required to remove his hat--usually a Borsalino or Homburg. Meanwhile, a perp with a rat-sized monkey in his hat is whizzed on through. We cannot even sneak on-board a convenient vial of "Kool-Aid" (that which you will need in case of an in-flight Ebola breakout or a hideous act of murderous sabotage).
